BIO4 Campus and Korea Development Institute: From Knowledge Exchange to the Next Stage of Cooperation

22/08/2026

BIO4 Campus welcomed colleagues from the Korea Development Institute (KDI) as part of the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) Follow-up Mission to Serbia, continuing the dialogue built through previous cooperation between Serbia and the Republic of Korea.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the results of the previous KSP project and, more importantly, to define the direction of future collaboration.

Learning from an ecosystem that has delivered results

Korea's experience offers valuable reference points for BIO4 as it builds an ecosystem designed to connect research, infrastructure, talent, industry, and innovation. A particular focus of the discussion was one of the most important challenges for emerging life sciences ecosystems: how to turn excellent research into technologies, products, and companies that can reach the market.

The conversation explored opportunities for future cooperation in technology transfer, commercialization, and industry engagement, from intellectual property and technology validation to stronger links with companies, investors, and markets.

International cooperation as a development tool

For BIO4 Campus, international cooperation is not simply about exchanging good practices. It is about learning from ecosystems that have successfully transformed research capacity into economic and societal impact, and adapting those lessons to Serbia's own ambitions and strengths.

BIO4 Campus thanks its Korean partners for the continued exchange and looks forward to exploring the next chapter of Serbia–Korea cooperation.
