BIO4 HPC Workshop / MoU Signing between BIO4 Campus & EPAM
23/09/2025

On September 23rd, BIO4 Campus hosted the HPC Workshop: “Supercomputing for Life Sciences”, bringing together researchers, bioinformaticians, and technology partners to explore the role of high-performance computing in advancing genomics, bioinformatics, and biomedical innovation. The workshop, co-organized with the Office for IT and eGovernment, IMGGE, NVIDIA, EPAM Systems, and the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Serbia, featured hands-on training sessions, live demonstrations, and discussions on sequencing workflows, GPU applications, and the future of HPC-enabled research in Serbia.

A key highlight of the event was the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between BIO4 Campus and EPAM Systems, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership to strengthen BIO4’s AI and advanced computing capabilities.

EPAM presented its open-source strategy and contributions to the BIO4 vision, emphasizing collaboration, accessibility, and the development of advanced computational tools for the scientific community.
The day concluded with a networking event, where participants, institutional partners, and industry leaders connected to exchange ideas and discuss future collaboration opportunities. This milestone event represents a step forward in building Serbia’s capacity for AI and advanced computing in life sciences, paving the way for advanced bioinformatics workflows and greater integration across the BIO4 ecosystem.
