BIO4 Campus joined the China Innovation Tour as part of a Serbian delegation that included representatives from the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and startups from national science and technology parks.

The visit spanned several Chinese cities — Ningbo, Kunshan, Suzhou, and Shanghai — with meetings focused on how scientific results translate into applied innovation through infrastructure, policy, and talent strategies.

From research capacity to economic impact

Jiangsu Province provided a clear example of how consistent national priorities in science, innovation, and talent development drive economic outcomes. The province accounts for just 1% of China's territory but generates 10% of the country's total GDP — demonstrating the alignment between research capacity, industrial application, and policy support needed for innovation ecosystems to scale.

The delegation visited innovation hubs built around universities, research institutes, and industrial parks. Institutions including Health Bel Med, MENOVO Pharmaceuticals, Ze'Jing Biologics, SH-INO, X-Node, and the China-Europe Talent Exchange Centre shared their approaches to building integrated support models that help resident companies grow and access international markets.

Building bridges for future collaboration

The BIO4 Campus concept was well received as a platform for science–industry collaboration and international partnership development. The visit laid groundwork for potential cooperation between Serbian and Chinese innovation stakeholders in biotechnology and applied research, reinforcing BIO4's positioning as a connector between local scientific capacity and global networks.
