Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today that the construction of the BIO4 campus will be completed by the end of 2026, which will make Serbia one of the most advanced European centres for biotechnology.

Speaking at a joint press conference with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic at the Presidency of Serbia, Brnabic announced that preparatory work on the BIO4campus will begin in a few days.

This campus will gather 1,400 professors, researchers, 4,000 students, over 1,000 PhDs and 300 of the most sophisticated laboratories, Brnabic said.

The Prime Minister pointed out that much more will be invested in research and development in the field of healthcare, in order to develop the most innovative, advanced, and modern therapies right here, in the Republic of Serbia.

Every citizen, every woman, every man, every child could receive a personalised medicine, therapy, in order to protect the health of our people in the best possible way and to extend their life span, said the Prime Minister.

According to her, within the BIO4 campus, some innovative therapies are already being worked on based on the BIO4 campus platform.

Swiss company "Swiss Rockets" is already working on the most innovative therapy for the treatment of multiple sclerosis with our INEP, the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy. This is something that does not exist in Europe at the moment, which we are starting to develop in the Republic of Serbia, within the BIO4 campus, Brnabic said.

Brnabic underlined that it is extremely important to invest in artificial intelligence, which can help the economy, healthcare, and our energy sector in the best possible way.

I must say that I am pleased to see the increasing activity of our scientific institutes, so that at the moment we have the Institute for the Development of Artificial Intelligence, which works side by side with the Institute of Oncology and Radiology in Serbia, Brnabic pointed out.
