BIO4 Campus hosted another Mini Minglarijum session, this time focusing on how liquid or tissue samples are transformed into usable data that can reveal disease mechanisms or guide treatment decisions.

Valentina Đorđević from the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGE) presented the Center for Genome, Transcriptome, and Epigenome Sequencing — its capabilities, capacity, and how researchers can access it. The center handles the full workflow: sample processing, sequencing, and data analysis using advanced equipment and specialized expertise.

From sample to insight

Valentina walked through the types of projects the center supports — genomics, transcriptomics, and epigenomics — and how these approaches connect to answer complex biological questions. The discussion covered practical aspects: what researchers need to know before submitting samples, how to interpret results, and where OMICS data fits into larger research strategies.

Several participants asked about integrating AI-based analysis tools with sequencing outputs — a growing area as datasets become larger and more complex.
