The delegation of the Republic of Serbia, led by Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation Jelena Begović, visited Pfizer’s innovation center in New York today, where they met with the company’s government relations team.

Begović explained that during the meeting, the Serbian delegation presented the BIO4 Campus project and discussed possibilities for future collaboration, including the establishment of a research and development center for innovative medicines within the campus in Serbia.

According to her, discussions with Pfizer representatives also included the potential for increased industrial-scale production of innovative medicines.

"Pfizer is currently the largest company in the world in terms of producing innovative vaccines," the minister emphasized, recalling that Serbia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the company, defining future cooperation with the BIO4 Campus.

"This was an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and present to the broader professional community at Pfizer what Serbia plans for the future and to demonstrate that we have a lot to offer in the fields of biotechnology, innovation, and technological development," Begović concluded.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation and Pfizer, signed on September 26, 2023, represents a confirmation of a partnership that will further develop within the BIO4 Campus, focusing on the advancement of biomedicine and biotechnology in Serbia.
