The Nature Conference on Engineered Models of Human Disease took place in Belgrade on October 28-29, 2025, marking the first Nature conference held in this part of Europe. The event gathered leading experts from biology, bioengineering, clinical research, computational science, and industry to focus on the development of human-relevant in vitro disease models. Key topics included engineering human tissues, organoids, organ-on-chip systems, modeling techniques, and cell–tissue interactions, with speakers such as Natalia Trayanova, Milica Radisic, Jürgen Knoblich, and Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic contributing to cutting-edge discussions. The conference provided a unique platform for scientific exchange and collaboration, bridging innovation with practical applications in disease modeling.

By offering access to unpublished research, poster sessions, and networking opportunities, the conference fostered engagement across the scientific and industrial communities, highlighting Serbia's growing role as a hub for biomedical innovation.
