Under the central theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” the BIO4 Campus delegation took part in Expo 2025 Osaka during Health and Wellbeing Week, engaging with global innovation in life sciences and its transformative impact on how we live, heal, and age. Representing Serbia’s ambition to become a leader in biotechnology and health innovation, BIO4 Campus—together with representatives from its tenant institutions—took part in a program that connected visionary ideas from around the world with the emerging strengths of Serbia’s scientific community.

The visit began with the Investment Conference of the Republic of Serbia, where BIO4 Campus was presented as one of the country’s most strategic development projects in science and innovation. In front of a diverse international audience, the delegation underscored Serbia’s long-term commitment to building a future-focused biotech ecosystem grounded in collaboration, research excellence, and sustainable growth.

Over the following days, the delegation—comprising representatives from BioSense Institute, Institute for Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, Science and Technology Park Belgrade, Institute for Medical Research, Institute for Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy, and the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases “Dedinje”—took part in different activities of the Expo’s Health and Wellbeing Week. A particular highlight was the visit to the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion, titled “Nest for Reborn.” Its interactive exhibits offered a glimpse into personalized healthcare of the future, powered by telemedicine, regenerative therapies, and infection control—set within an architectural design that symbolized harmony with nature and longevity-centered living.

As part of the official program, the delegation also attended AGEVITY Japan 2025, the international edition of the Longevity Forum, held at the Italian Pavilion. Organized by Assolombarda and the Silver Economy Network, the forum brought together global experts to discuss the challenges of ageing populations, health technologies, and long-term sustainability.

The visit concluded with participation in Japan Health 2025, an international exhibition on medical technology and health innovation held at INTEX Osaka. The event brought together medical device manufacturers, startups, research institutions, and public agencies, offering a broad perspective on the technological advancements.

Taken as a whole, the visit provided the delegation with a comprehensive view of global trends in biotech, health innovation, and longevity—from national strategies to hands-on technologies and international cooperation. Aligned with the Expo’s core pillars—Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives—the visit reflected BIO4 Campus’s ambition to drive innovation, foster international collaboration, and help shape a more connected and resilient life sciences ecosystem for the generations to come.
